SAMSUNG – B9120

This commercial was done for Samsung China. Samsung was releasing this new Android cellphone targeted for business owners and entrepreneurs.

In this commercial, an entrepreneurs has the dream to build a city in the desert. The computer graphics on this commercial were quite difficult to create, as there are several different environments and we didn’t have much time. We had to do a very precise animatic before shooting the hand elements, so we would get the correct lighting on the hands.

Here is an example of the work done during pre-production:

All the hand elements were shot on green screen, then placed in the 3d scene to cast shadows and interact with the 3d elements. The problem was that event with a very good and precise animatic, the production house didn’t manage to shoot exactly what was done in the animatic, and we had to remap all the hands onto 3d objects.
